I am feeling conflicted. There is a part of me that really enjoys Warhammer, but I am noticing a few things lately.

The bubble of new users has passed me by. I have a really hard time queuing for scenarios at Tier 2... the big mass of new users are all up in Tier 4 now (according to Fatty Chubs) where there is no queuing at all. Where are all the new people?

In the end, all I want is my mount at level 20... if I get it... what is there for me to chase? I am an Achiever (Bartle) after all... where do I go from there?

There are just way too many games coming out... I feel a renaissance on the Xbox 360 approaching. I keep putting off buying Rock Band 2 and Fallout 3 because of time constraints... but I am not going to be able to hold off much longer... Once I start going on that, where will the Warhammer time come from?

So here I sit... wondering just how long I will continue. The main problem is that I am not a one-game player... and MMOs, because of the time commitment, almost force you to be one. If you take a break from it... you lose touch with the mythos... where you were at... the people you were playing with... they all leave you in the dust... and so you find yourself alone, grinding on a random PvE quest or a PQ... or you end up waiting 30 minutes to get into a scenario...

Then again, I am still paying for a Tabula Rasa subscription I am not using as well. :)

Fallout 3 promises to be a big time commitment as well, although it's significantly different in that you can pick it up and put it down whenever you like. How many hours did you invest in Oblivion, for example?
I'm feeling conflicted as well. I've got all these great games coming out in the next month, I've already purchased Red Alert 3 and Rock Band 2(the special edition, no less), and I haven't played WAR in about a month. Not only that, I don't really have the urge to play Warhammer any more.

To make things more complicated, I just joined a guild in World of Warcraft made up of all my old high school friends from Ohio, which makes WoW a great tool for keeping in touch with those guys. WoW definitely has a future, it has a great expansion coming out in 2 weeks...basically it's the safe bet for me in terms of MMOs.

Warhammer is the gamble...and I'm not sure if it's worth it to see if Warhammer Online survives with a strong fan base or if it dies like Age of Conan.
i actually was feeling the same time when i played for a bit last night - but im even lower than you :)

i think the thing really keeping me in the game so far, is the fact that I am playing with my brother and brother in law 1 night a week on order - since i cant seem to ever cross paths with you *evil glare*
I put about 80 hours into Oblivion to get 1000/1000 gamerscore. It never felt like a lot though... it was a great game.

Squid, we aren't crossing paths because I am not playing as much :)
I've still got to go through the games I get through gamefly, jeeze laweez!
I feel your pain, dude. I wanted to play Warhammer just to play with others from work, but we haven't really synced up well on that (and haven't really tried anyway), so not surprisingly, it's not quite working yet.

That said, I'm already satisfied with having seen what War accomplishes in the early game, and I still believe the game will get more momentum early next year as Wrath cools down, etc.

Like Sam, I've recently got back into WoW and I'm really enjoying it. And of course there's Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Red Alert 3, and Rock Band 2. On and my Gamefly games... which are great... and constantly replenishing. ;)
While I agree there is much to play this month, and MMO's are time consuming... I just started a brand new Arch Mage this weekend on one of the new transfer servers. Queueing is great and I'm level 10 already.

The one good thing about MMOs are that if you do stick it out to the high end, it gets very maintainable to keep up (maybe once or twice a week small play session, with a few breaks). This is how people are able to keep up with PC/Console gaming and/or another MMO. Sure you won't have everything in game but no one does.
