Jumped in... got a few more levels... Level 7 now... I just can't get past how basic these quests are... go hear... kill this... search this... find this... go back... talk to person A... rinse... repeat... most of the game becomes walking.
And repeat. I don't get ANY of the MMORPG's. How do you WIN? Do you EVER roll the credits? I gotta be able to put the game on the shelf when I'm done and then grab it again after a year or two... Like a good book. And NOT PAY a monthly fee for the "privilege". ;)
yeah there is a huge bargain there, as we sell our souls cheap! lol at some point the entertainment to dollars ratio fails us and we must moderate the hours.. buuuut yeah great value.
i have a real hard time grinding. thats what killed mmo's for me more than anything. hows the grinding on lotrO? i pray the simplequests are a low level thing, still.. how is the writing for these simplequests? maybe it is still interesting? do they draw one in or share middle earth history?
Well... that is the thing. I only tried LOTRO because I had a free trial. I am not a huge LOTR Mythos guy... i know lots of people who play it because it is LOTR. For me, it is just another fantasy MMO. Seems like there is a lot of story there... which you have to READ in the quest instructions. :)
I am really just waiting around for Global Agenda and Jumpgate Evolution. :)
MMORPGs are continuous content consumption. It is like a TV show that goes on episode after episode, year after year.
The monthly fee is a bargain compared to the hours of entertainment you get out of it... you probably can't find a better cost/fee ratio.
