I am sort of getting back into Burnout Paradise. I downloaded the huge 1.2 gig patch which made all sorts of enhancements to the game. I also picked up some DLC cars... and then took to the streets. I tried out the motorcycles which are rad, but the crashes aren't awesome like they are with the cars. Sometimes it just resets you back on the road instantly which makes it feel unfinished. And I also don't like how the bikes lack boost... MORE SPEED!
I didn't notice the dynamic weather and night driving before the patch, so I assume that went in as well... fog sucks.
I got a few achievements for repairing and getting my Class A license... oh and I guess the new patch came with something that unlocked all the cars... that makes it really fun as well... rallying some sweet rides at top speed.
I am happy I am giving this game a second chance... they did a great job with the DLC and the things that annoyed me about it before don't seem to be annoying me now. This must be one of those games that is getting better with age.
1.2 gig patch!? Dang! I wonder what the standard hard drive size is going to be for next-gen consoles My 40 gig harddrive is already close to full from just Rock Band songs. Luckily none of my games (that I know of) have had any patches that huge.
Yeah man I totally need a bigger hard drive. I have 2 gigs left... I just have lots of arcade games and save games and such... oh and Rock Band track downloads. So yeah... new hard drive in my future at some point.
yeah I mean, all new menus... new way of picking vehicles... a store inside the game to buy add ons... even in game certain things feel different like camera angles/crash angles/etc. Not 100% sure what all was in there... but it feels like tons.
The patch is huge because it includes ALL the DLC. It sucks because even if you don't want it, you are forced to download it so that you can play online with people who have it. For example, I don't have the cops and robbers DLC but I can see people driving around in the cars from that DLC as I have all the content in the "patch". So its good so as not to split the community, but it sucks because if you are limited on space, it is a hard drive eater.
The big patch didn't come with everything. I think the Island is stil 1000 points if you want in... and Cops and Robbers requires you to still pay for it... or are you saying all the content is included in the patch, just not the keys to drive it?
